Hello! Let me introduce myself. My name is Melanie May, and I’ve been writing for, and about, businesses of all shapes and sizes for more than two decades.
There are a number of good reasons why you should use me. Not only am I fast, friendly, flexible and affordable but with a marketing and journalism background, I know how to write compelling copy, and how to pitch it precisely at the audience you’re targeting.
Based in the heart of the West Country, I’m publishing lead and content editor at Turner PR, where I work across the client base creating quality news and feature content for trade media and blogs, client newsletters and websites. This includes being the editor of Fundraising Europe, a regular online publication for the European Fundraising Association (EFA).
Until recently I was also news editor of UK Fundraising, where I was responsible for writing and editing daily news content, as well as monthly editorial focuses. As a copywriter, I also work for a wide range of clients across a wide range of sectors including charity, technology, and marketing services.
Clients past and present include: Turner PR, European Fundraising Association, Massive, Arc Data, Salesforce, Google, The Online Book Company, The Children’s Food Trust, Dorling Kinderlsey, Royal Mail, NHS, Rapidata, Proportion Marketing, Lindsell Marketing, Pitney Bowes, Blackbaud, and Return Path.
In my free time (and depending on the season), you can usually find me up a hill looking for wildflowers and butterflies, or in a wood searching for fungi. I volunteer as a livestock looker for Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, keeping an eye on cattle and sheep at a local reserve, and I’m also membership secretary for the Wiltshire branch of Butterfly Conservation. I love where I live, and feel very lucky to be based on the edge of Salisbury Plain.
